I recently read Get Ya Life: From Victim to Victor by Eugenia Buie, and I was extremely blessed. My friend recommended the book to me, and I wasn't really sure what to expect. I thought it would be a typical church book with "testimonies" of how God kept and not much about how He delivered, empty stories that never really penetrate because the storyteller is afraid to be exposed. Boy was I wrong! The authenticity, realness, and conversational nature of the book was groundbreaking. I laughed and mostly cried at how much I could relate to certain situations in Gina's testimony. I could feel God speaking to me about different things in my life, and really showing me how He can and He will use EVERYTHING that is apart of my story. My biggest takeaway from the book is that there is absolutely nothing that is too dirty or too nasty for God to use, and the mindset that "no one will understand" or "I am the only one struggling with this" is a trick of the enemy. I am so grateful for this book, I could feel transformation taking place in my life as I read it and God revealed things to me.
